Talking Graduate Certificate and Next Steps
January 31, 2020
Join us for our first spring meeting on Friday, January 31st from 12 – 1 pm (Sloan 3rd Floor Conference Room). We will be discussing the proposed graduate certificate and next steps in the submission and review process. We hope graduate students will attend to provide their input on the proposed graduate certificate. Plus, we will have an exciting announcement for our CHIP faculty affiliates.
Industrial Change and County Median Income: The Moderating Role of State Power Resources and Policies

Dr. Stephanie Moller (UNC-Charlotte) will be presenting at the Sociology Colloquium and we’re invited to attend. Her talk will examine whether state power resources and policies provide potential buffers from industrial employment shifts (from manufacturing to post-industrial employment). More specifically, through analysis of U.S. county and state data between 1970 and 2010, this research examines whether the longitudinal associations between industrial employment sector size and median income across counties are moderated by the power resources and policies in states.
